Who we are

JobTrackerAI (jobtrackerai.com) is a South African career guidance and job listings website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. Questions: contact@jobtrackerai.com.

Information we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your name and email address, either through Google sign-in or through an email-and-password account. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito; we never see your Google password, and email-account passwords are stored by Cognito in protected (hashed) form, not by us.

Profile, CV and documents. If you choose to complete a profile, build a CV or save documents, we store that information against your account so that you can use it again. It is private to your account.

Saved jobs and applications. Jobs you save and applications you track are stored against your account so the service can show them back to you. We do not share them with employers.

The Z83 tool without an account. If you use the Z83 form filler without signing in, the details you enter stay in your browser until you download the form. They are then sent once to generate the PDF and are not stored. If you upload a CV to fill in the form for you, the CV is sent to our AI service provider to read your details from it.

Technical data. Our hosting infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) automatically logs information such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, for security and performance monitoring.

AI tools

When a signed-in user asks for AI help — for example a draft cover letter or interview preparation for a job — we send the job listing and the relevant parts of the user's profile to our AI service provider to generate the result, and we save the result to the user's account. We use these features only to provide the result you asked for. AI-generated text can contain mistakes; always review it before you use it.

Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences, including your cookie choice. Advertising cookies are described below.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. More detail on how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

How we use your information

To provide the service (accounts, profiles, CVs, saved jobs, application tracking and the tools you choose to use), to send job alert emails (every email has an unsubscribe link), to secure and operate the website, and to display advertising as described above. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing contact@jobtrackerai.com; we action requests within 30 days.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) — and equivalent laws such as the GDPR where they apply — you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, and to object to its processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).

Children

The account features of this service are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows the current version.
